Serious discipleship

Are you ready to grow up in the Lord? Then these are the bible studies for you. The focus of these examinations of scripture is to make powerful, dedicated disciples of Jesus our Messiah.

Living in the world has never been easy, but it really helps to know the choices to be made. These studies are based on almost 40 years of discipleship training by David & Pastor Pat. They are designed for groups that include all ages — but also work exceedingly well for youth groups and ministry training. Above all, they are excellent for individual bible study.

Advanced discipleship studies

When are topical studies appropriate?

  • Sometimes the topics need to be covered separately.

The key is to never forget your verse by verse studies. It's the verse by verse reading that keeps you grounded. It also helps you cover all the scriptures and not skip from topic to topic while avoiding areas with which you do not want to deal or which you are avoiding.

Ideal for radical youth ministry

These materials are focused on solutions for today in the new millennium. David has been at the forefront of working online since 1996. Originally, he developed complete online curricula for desktop publishing, digital printing, and distance learning.

Recently, he has finally been freed to work on materials for the Kingdom of Jesus. He never shies away from the difficult questions — choosing to provide teachings that are actually useful in your day to day living.

Developed for discipleship

These studies are meant to set up an environment where the disciples’ questions will be freely asked and answered carefully by seeking the wisdom of the Lord.

Love Not the World: A Prophetic Call to Holy Living
By Watchman Nee / CLC Publications
Watchman Nee states that there's a satanic power behind every worldly thing and that the natural tendency of every worldly system such as politics, education, literature, science, art and music is to move away from God and toward Satan. Nee explores how the Christian can live and work in these systems but not be "of the World."

Why Verse by Verse Bible Studies?

Study rules

We must always pray for wisdom, protection, and guidance before we study the Bible. The flesh and the enemy can use bad interpretation of the Bible very easily—if we allow it.

When in doubt assume that it is literal. For example, when Jesus says that it is better to cut off a hand that causes you to sin than to go to Hell—He means it. This is not allegorical It is the simple truth. Of course, the truth of the matter is that we are freed from sin (see Romans 6) so you have control over what you allow your hand to do. But Jesus’ statement remains the plain literal truth.

It is amazingly easy to wander off into speculation about the meanings of symbolism. They do not help you become more fruitful. They do not improve your relationship with the Lord. As a result, they are largely a waste of time. Also, teachings on symbolism can be facinating, but again they are filled with speculation.

We believe everything necessary for Salvation is covered in the Bible. Doctrines and customary practices that are extra-biblical [like Sunday School, being slain in the spirit, the Rapture, sacrements, and the like] cannot be necessary for salvation or God would have mentioned it specifically and covered it completely in the Bible. They can be very helpful, and they are not heretical, but they cannot be required docrine.

Scripture versions used & why

There is no doubt in our minds and experience that the Bible is inspired by God and written down by men and women who were anointed by the Holy Spirit to accurately give God's truth to His people. It is the standard we rely on.

Unlike the original inspiration, translations are made by people who do the best they can, colored by their doctrinal positions and experience in the Lord. You must pray that the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth as you study. After all, He is the author.

A peripheral issue is that no translations have been done by spirit-filled people, as far as we know. If you have heard of a good one, please let us know.

All study materials are colored by the religious lives and spiritual experience of the people involved. Of course, this includes our Bible Studies here at Radiqx. You must pray for wisdom when using study materials about the Bible.

Using many versions, translations, & paraphrases

As a result we use many versions—normally a half dozen or more. We find that we avoid much error by looking for a consensus among the various versions.

Coupled with this is the fact, in our experience, that no version is the best translation for all verses. We have found much wisdom and practical solutions for walking in the spirit by comparing multiple versions—looking for insights and deeper truths for the mature believer.
